Summer Sundae Fringe Festival

Information

The Summer Sundae Fringe Festival is back for 2010. This year is our fifth birthday so we want to make it our best Fringe to date.

The Fringe will start on Friday 6 August with a launch party and will finish with our main event 'Fringe Thursday' on Thursday 12 August. We will be curating events across the city between Saturday 7th and Wednesday 11th August so if you would like to organise and event for these dates please get in touch with us and we will see if we can accommodate you within the festival.

The Fringe festival is organised by a group of passionate individuals who give their time and experience for free. We do it because we want to showcase the best in local talent across the arts including music, photography and comedy to name just a few. We also like seeing the city come alive and embracing the unique party atmosphere of the Fringe (over 2000 revellers enjoyed our Fringe Thursday event in 2009). Finally and perhaps most importantly we do it to raise money for an amazing cause called LOROS, an amazing hospice in Leicester that cares for terminally ill patients.

Thursday 12th August marks the 5th annual 'Fringe Thursday'.

What started as a bit of a shindig before the main festival in 2006 has grown into a festival in it's own right and this year will span 9 different venues on Fringe Thursday all linked by our famous open top buses (very kindly sponsored by Reach Marketing) and our shuttle bus between DMH and the Donkey (sponsored by Sturgess of Leicester).

Here we go again! On Friday 6th August at Phoenix Square the official launch party for the fifth annual Summer Sundae Fringe Festival will take place.

The party is presented by Cuttlefish (the bod's behind Pineapster.com) and will be a great evening of entertainment in the Screening Lounge of Phoenix Square

The evening will include live performances from Silent Devices, Gallery 47 and By The Rivers. There will also be a DJ set by Maybeshewill throughout the evening.
