'...warm saxophone lines, strong addictive vocals and tastes of electronic beats... they are definitely going places.' Silent Signals started as a trio of musicians between 2008/09 at the University of Leicester, creating instrumental remixes of influenced tracks. Jessica Pilkington, Joe Barnby and Yannick Carter began to use minimalist and melodic style with just a guitarist, pianist and female vocalist. The band met bassist, Ali Dunlop, and drummer, Freddie Warshaw, in a pursuit to thicken their sound with a rhythm section. Following musical differences, Will Smith took the place of pianist Yannick Carter and with another lead vocalist, Danielle Chung, added to the group Silent Signals developed its current experimental and ambient sound.
