Formed on the day Michael Jackson died in June 2009, Produkty released their debut EP The 1200 Pounds in September 2009 (on their own Leopardskin Records label). Originally known as IOSH, a law suit to the tune of £1200 for a small, accidental bit of trademark theft (instigated by The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health after only 2 gigs) brought in a change of name to Produkty and provided the inspiration for the name of the debut EP.
Having already built up a loving and loyal fanbase in their hometown of Leicester, Produkty are gaining fans with their exquisitely crafted tunes and unique naive art-rock sound that has been compared to bands such as Joy Division, The Pixies, Roxy Music & Black Sabbath.
Produkty are comprised of Andy (Vocals/Guitar), Jason (Guitar), Kerry (Bass) and Nikki (Drums), the boy-girl dynamics of the band giving them a sort of indie-Abba vibe.
The debut EP features the live favourites Girlfriend Gone, Torn My Secret, All Over Yourself and Probably Will. The follow up (The Fat Nerves EP) is now available and features the new tracks The Planet (And Everybody On It), Still Life, Boom Yeah!, and Rock N Roll Has Made Fools Of You All.
The third EP- Tiny Hell- was released in September 2010, and includes the 4 brand new tracks Bubbles Of Love; Less About Us, More About You; Chairs, Bricks & Blood and Don't Believe In Anything.
The fourth Produkty record, the Freelance King EP is scheduled to be released in March 2011, and features the 4 brand new tracks: Be My Ghost, Gonna Need A Bigger Stick, Sugar Mice and Freelance King.
All Produkty tracks are now available on CD from our webstore, or available to download from Amazon, iTunes and other online digital stores.
