What is Comcast doing about spam?

We take our responsibility to combat spam very seriously and in the last year, we have reduced inbound/outbound spam by more than 70% by using a variety of techniques to block spam before it ever reaches your email box. These include:

Reputation Services

Confirms the email comes from a credible sender
Determines if the sender is a known spammer and blocks them accordingly

Automated Spam Filtering

We currently use Cloudmark to filter outbound and inbound spam using the latest tools and software
We have significantly increased the number of honeypots (Honeypots are email addresses created for the sole purpose of catching spammers).

Port 25 Blocking

We work with you to block access to Port 25 - the most commonly used to send spam

Spam Blocking (Blacklisting)

Because spammers are constantly looking for new ways to target our customers, we identify key indicators and patterns of spam and then block senders that are determined to send excessive amounts of spam.
Comcast works with and educates companies that spammers try to high behind without the company's knowlege, to help them filter their mail, which protects you and prevents them from becoming spam targets.
