Leicester Mercury 'The Week' Article 6 August 2009

Fri 7th August, 2009 by Summer Sundae Fringe Festival

On Thursday 6th August the Leicester Mercury had an article on page 3 of 'The Week' magazine regarding the Fringe Festival.

The article contained some inaccurate information so to clarify a few things.

Jersey Budd will be headlining the Musician venue on 'Fringe Thursday' playing with Ruberlaris, Jann Klose, Dumbfound and The Utopians. Jersey will be playing an acoustic show earlier in the day in London and will be performing with his full band for us at the Musician in the evening.

The acts listed as playing the Musician in the article are actually playing at The Donkey. This includes The Deap People, David Wyatt, M48, The Kirkland Turn, You Fellows of All Souls and our Very special guests.

Saturday no longer sees 'The Chairman' at the Firebug. Melting Pot are now hosting Saturday at the Firebug with Superevolver, The Legion, The Utopians, One Suspicious Monkey & Joel Owen.

Tickets are available from Firebug, Rockaboom, Musician, De Montfort Hall, Donkey & New Road Inn. Not in the Orange Tree, Lansdowne or Phoenix Arts.

Finally the Falling Leaves can be described as 'archaic' not 'anarchic' so for all families thinking of seeing the Falling Leaves Arkestra on Fringe Thursday at the New Road Inn it will be a fun, relaxed affair. Not one of anarchy! (we hope!!)

Actually it was the promoter who used the term "anarchic" rather than the paper. Hey ho.
