Reggae haters.

On the suibject of PMA, I have this to say:

When I worked behind the bar at The Globe, I got asked out by this girl and she was MINT - absolutely an eleven out of ten. I did the decent, honest thing and told her that I already had a girlfriend, although things were not great between us. Three days later my g/f dumped me. I spoke to my brother about this whole woeful episode and he said, "Don't worry mate, at least you did the right thing and if that girl ever meets you again she will respect you for being honest when a lot of blokes would have just said, "yeah I'm single", dumped the missus and that would have been that! Now my brother is often a complete bust assed nonk but on this occasion I had to give props because he gave me a way of thinking which helped me deal with summat which was purely quite miserable.

i was that grrl!!!

IDKWTIEUFD?

are you saying that we should have destroyed ALL reggae music retrospectively - or that reggae music should have been "stopped" at the millenium preventing any new records but leaving the back catalogues of The Bundu Boys, Buju and Pato Banton and Shabba Ranks intact?

Regaae music is my nightmare. Chris Evans played Rastamouse on Radio 2 this morning whilst I was still vulnerable and weak from lack of having got out of bed yet. Whilst actually a surprisingly amazing tune (and this said by a reggae hater like myself) it scares me that reggae (which is basically a musical condiment for marijuana) will become more widespread.

I don't mind what people listen to but I don't want to not be able to listen to the radio or watch TV because of the fear of reggae. Keep it in your bedrooms you tokers.

Reggae is much more that "a musical condiment for marijuana" - it might be better to say that both marijuana and reggae music form part of a whole lifestyle which is much bigger than its parts and which promotes humility, penitence, positivity and love. "The rasta man is a righteous man" - Macka B

I'm not familiar with their work. The problem with Ska and reggae is it's like the worst bits of Motown, with an annoying up-beat guitar.

Musical hell... Any evil dictators listening, if you want information, don't torture me, just put me in a room and play any of the following: Less than Jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Spunge, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger etc, and I'll sing like a canary...

oooh! Saucer of milk, table two...

I'm down with Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Lee Perry, but I don't get on with the music past that. Gateway drugs... Moderate reggae use can lead to Aswad...

I can do a bit of Bob Marley and a few other bits of reggae but mostly it upsets and depresses me, much the same way as does much of punk. I don't mind anyone listening to it in the privacy of their own homes as long as I don't have to hear it.
