We watched Shutter Island on Saturday night and I totally loved it.

I then loaned this film to my Dad thinking that it was right up his street..... i got a phone call a few hours later asking me to explain what the hell the film was about!

There was only ONE good scene in this film.... the rest of it was just pure nonsense!

The bit where she gets dragged out of bed? Yeah. The Ouija board bit made me giggle, hence one star for each.

Yep! Thats the one. All the other "scary" scenes are in the previews of the film so whats the point?!

Yeah, that was rather amusing. I did think they were going to take a leaf out of RECs book when they went into the attik, but alas.... all they found was a bloody photo!

Wouldnt it of actually be great if the actually went to The Attik in Leicester, instead of the attic in their house?

Ha. I thought it was well done, reminded me of the League of Gentlemen Christmas special, with the portmanteau horror stories idea. And I liked the way it linked into the end of the last series. The new one looks interesting. What the hell is it about?

Just finished watching Night of the Living Dead on the iPlayers. Yes, definite moments of genius throughout, especially the end credits. I'm sure it came across even better in the days before being ripped off left, right and centre. All influential films get dated by the process of mimicry, yet there are many sublime moments in this film and they remain sublime simply because they haven't been replicated. The dialogue and camera work have a curious realism. I spent the whole film wondering exactly what it was about these aspects, in particular in the beginning sequence where the girl flees to her car and presses her hands to the glass. It just simply looks so real and urgent. How does he create that feel? Crazy.

Definitely a masterpiece.

Went to see Due Date last night, with the other half.

Funny in parts - just enough to keep you mildly entertained, without sobbing into your popcorn. Nowhere near as funny as The Hangover, as it was supposed to be. Zach Galifianakos is as funny as he is in The Hangover, but Robert Downey Jr ends up being a pretty rubbish support actor. Cameo's by Jamie Foxx, and Juliette Lewis are rubbish, and are not needed.

Like I say - enough comedy to keep you tittering every 15 minutes or so, but id wait for the DVD.

4/10 Stars

Comic adaption. The comic is very popular and universally praised as being one of the best things ever. The start of 28 Days Later, with the guy waking up in a hospital and empty city... Thats ripped off from Walking Dead, the whole thing. Or Walking Dead ripped it off.

Yes - saw the 1st episode of this over the weekend and it is very promising - suprisingly gory for a TV series and great effects/makeup!

Indeed. The effects for the half zombie dragging itself along were amazing.

Anyone seen Let Me In yet? Or, even better, Let The Right One In?

Both good films IMO.
