palmer_eldritch Posts: 3183	Yes, I know I'm supposed to be watching England lose but I've just happened upon something that will kick off a well-worn conversation on here, so it'd be churlish not to stick it up: Traditional media is haemorrhaging its lead as music discovery platform It's American, mind. And it's one of those statistical things but if nothing else it should stop all these 'Leicester isn't a gigging city' types - other places aren't gigging either, it would seem.

Terrance Trent M'ugabe Posts: 1543	I only go to see my favourite bands like Depeche Mode and Fad Gadget. Sometimes they have good support acts and that is how I discover new bands. Like on Depeche Modes Exciter tour I discovered Fad Gadget so as you can see this method works out very well for me. Obviously Fad Gadget doesn't exist anymore (Frank Tovey RIP ) but I'll always have Depeche Mode! ^__^

Posts: 18749	you see - when i made that statement, my brain had wiped the days of Mark and Lard evening session and I am pretty sure i bought a Throwing Muses album, Babes in toyland, and the first Ash record because of them playing songs. probably a few more. Though I never bought teh Fatima mansions EP but i should have done. sorry all!
