Well... I spent the Thursday night in The Donkey - reclined in a comfy arm chair with pc atop my lap dispensing easy listening tunes between turns. And a fine night it was! Just missed the beginning of Yellowbelly's set but as I arrived the place was heaving and atmosphere was ace - as you might probably expect. The line up reflected t'Donkey's music policy amicably and ran pretty much like clockwork, with a rather flustered - but always right on the job in hand - Gaz B. at the helm. Lots of singing, dancing and general bon hommie was had.

I did notice there was a lot of movement in and out of the venue early in the night, on to and off of the buses and the crowd did seem to completely change round between a couple of the bands, but then I guess the movement of audience between venues is something that has been actively encouraged? It reminded of the festival actually - how folks trot between the hall and outside stages en masse. It did thin out pretty sharpish later too... I wonder if the start times could be even earlier? It might seem odd to start a gig at, well, even 6pm, but if people are setting up camp at DH in the afternoon or just want to get their heads down for work the next morning, it might be worth considering? But I only saw one venue's night!

Ace fun. Scaley Fuego were my personal fave.

I attended the firebug on thursday fringe, it was very nice, took all me kids, fun was had all round.

How good were Dark Dark Horse? Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal good.

yeah it seems an awful lot of people seemed to develop a plan to go to the donkey first, then begin a pub crawl into town. all the buses were busiest for the donkey from the start of the night.
