I remember hearing a great cover of Slayer's South of Heaven a few years ago by a chap and his acoustic guitar. Sounded nothing like the original, obviously. Was still awesome. Grab some chart bollocks and do that - you'll only improve it, I'm sure, plus your audience will feel clever for recognising it.
