So I'm in th process of getting some amps together to hire out. Already got my Mesa dual rec and. Peavey 5150 ii on the way.
Anyone think they'd have any use or know anyone who might.

Just a feeler at the mo to see if there are any bites.

we recently hired a dual rectifier for a recording session... I would say there's a market in supplying high quality amps to studios on a rental basis...

This is a great idea. You need the following amps to provide something comprehensive I think:
Jcm800
Plexi
Fender twin
Peavey classic 30
Blackstar
Roland jazz chorus
Fender blues deville/deluxe

^^^ not a bad idea. the mesa and peavey are likely to be a little, i dunno, "niche" (???) so have a broader spectrum inlcuding a JCM or JMP, a decent fender, the Jazz Chorus, a vox... plus maybe an orange (to attract the hep cats).

you'll probably need a bank loan on all this - but what the fuck - bankruptcy isnt the stigma it used to be.

I've PMed you about combining forces... I've got a Marshall JCM800 and JVM410 (arguably Marshall's two best heads) and a couple of lovely bass heads i'd throw in to the ring...

whats your plans with insuring / safeguarding this lot?

i mean - youre chucking around some pretty desireable valves - what happens when you rent Helps' marshall to The Hairy Nostrils and they drop it down FB stairs... or leave in on stage at the shed overnight and silver bullet will liberates it... or you lend it to Transistor Boy Fucktard who tries to DI it to a PA without plugging it into a cab? he's gonna come back to you and say - "oh yeah - i just plugged it in and it went pop..."

Not picking fault here, just genuinely interested in what your approach is gonna be.

I've worked with The Hairy Nostrils and they don't need to rent Helps' marshall - they have digital modelling pod gizmos which provide the sounds of every classic amp ever made. Except better.

Well looks like I have a lot to do at the mo. to either Rae, Matt or dan, I shall be in very soon. Kiss kiss.

The more I think about it I'm just going to go for about 10 behringer v-amp mark 2's as they are far superior In sound and build quality then the pods.
I think this is the best approach.

Hows about this for an idea - The Swan and Music Junkie partnership?

Basically after having a painful gig due to some werid issue with my amp im now thinking that I need to get a new one. I think i know what im after but cant justify the spend without being 120% convinced - id like to demo the amp propperly at volume to convince myself that its worth the £ hit. Demoing in a shop is very different to rocking it at a venue where you get the chance to crank it a little bit more. How about some collaboration between y'all.

Swan - you get great prices on your amps (cheap services etc) and maby a beer or two is you send work to Music Junkie.

Music Junkie - you get sales and less tire kickers / sweet child of mine noodlers.

Make it happen / and cut me a deal when I come your way.

:D

...... and the crowd say bo selecta !
