i don't wear them myself, but the obvious popular choice is often 'ahead' gloves, although there are various different manufacturers of gloves specific to drumming. finger or fingerless depends on where you're presumably getting blisters?? it may not be what you want to hear but maybe it's worth getting some tution or at least different perspectives/experimenting on how you grip your sticks if you're suffering.

I'm afraid I'm going to echo what Crofty says. With good technique, nothing should be suffering, even on the longest gigs.

A lesson or two with a good teacher would be a worthwhile investment.

Drum gloves are possibly the ponciest feature in any drummer's arsenal.

One of my favourite conversations my previous drummer had with a drummer who had drum gloves:

Lee: Alright mate, erm what's wrong with your hands...?
Drummer: They're drum gloves
Lee: Why? Are your hands cold?
Drummer: Nah mate, I get blisters.
Lee: Oh boo hoo.

Would agree also on the score of developing technique over hasty hand defence - it doesn't solve the core problems.

A lot of the folks you see wearing gloves do so out of endorsement obligations (Ahead sticks/gloves). Eastman do them too - originally made for baseball players. If you happen to be Vinnie Paul, playing two hours a night on a thirty date tour, then the gloves are a pretty useful standby. I know for a fact that even he doesn't wear them all the time.

I would say that without exception, anyone I've ever taught who has experienced blister problems/dropping sticks etc. has discovered a solution without resorting to gloves.

piss on your hands, makes the skin hard, stops blisters, plus it makes them smell like sugar puffs

If you really must... cycle racing mitts or weight lifting gloves? Wearing pink Marigolds would rock harder, though.

As a drummer you'll know the importance of co-ordination; if you're gonna wear gloves, then you'll have to wear a matching scarf and hat too.

i dont know anything about drums, but I lift weights and i frown upon such suckaz as would wear gloves during the activity.
