Summer Sundae Fringe Festival

Information

Thanks to everyone who was involved this year's festival. We think you will all agree that this was the best Summer Sundae Fringe Festival ever (and the main Summer Sundae festival was pretty special too). With 18 venues around Leicester and over 50 bands during 'Fringe Fortnight', then 9 parties on 'Fringe Thursday', it was certainly the biggest! We're going to have a bit of a rest, but we will start thinking about 2010's festival before the end of the year.

If you are interested in being involved then join Pineapster and post a message to the Summer Sundae Fringe discussion forum. We would like to broaden the festival's appeal even more next year and confirm it as a major part of the Leicester music and arts scene. As well as music we would like to include more live comedy, theatre, exhibitions and more. If you have anything to contribute then post to the forum.

If you want to listen to music by some of the great bands who were involved in the Fringe you can download a FREE double compilation album from Pineapster Recordings. This won't be available for ever, so download it while you can.

Current events at DMH.........

Sun 18th October, 2009

ok. some of you may well have noticed recent articles concerning Richard Haswell and Summer Sundae in the Leicester Mercury. certainly quite a few of you have asked us what we know.

The answer is no more than you. We don't have any further knowledge than what we've read in the Mercury also. We would like to say we are very very concerned over the suspension of Richard Haswell.

We only hope this is not a scenario where certain people are engineering a situation to remove the festivals.</..

The Leicester Music Scene Gossip : Diary Entry 1. Mid October 2009

Sat 10th October, 2009

Right ok, so heres some snippets of news. Not gossip, well not malicious gossip at least, however, the following good and bad things have happened in the last month or so, and we'd thought we'd try and details them there :

Good Things

The Charlotte

The Charlotte re-opening : ok, there are some pay to play complaints, but give the place a chance, it's being run by people who have never done this before. They seem open to advice and they've got good intentions. One things for certain..
